Kittyo

App, Website, & Branding

User Interface / UX / Iconography

Kittyo is the brainchild of Lee Miller, a long-time client of TechGrayscale. Lee approached us to initially help him develop the playful branding and his Kickstarter campaign. After an amazing response on Kickstarter, we helped Lee with Kittyo’s web presence, the packaging and the application UI that interfaces with the product. This was truly a full-service project with lots of pieces, and we couldn’t be more proud of the results!

Brand Development

The Kittyo brand is playful and fun, just like the product. In addition to brand guidelines and color palette, we provided several sets of cat illustrations to help carry the brand tone on the website and packaging.

Kickstarter

We knew the Kittyo product was a cool idea, but we had no idea it would be so wildly popular on Kickstarter! The project was fully funded in 45 minutes and raised over $200,000 in two weeks. We’d like to think we had a small part to play in its success!

The TechGrayscale team was instrumental in our success on Kickstarter – we raised our goal ($30,000) in less than an hour and exceeded our own expectations by raising over a quarter million dollars total. TechGrayscale was a valuable partner for Kittyo – designing everything from our brand and website to the packaging and application UI. These guys are the real deal!

Website & App

The Kittyo website functioned to both showcase the product and its features as well as drive interest and pre-order sales. It was important that the brand tone and messaging was clear, since the product wasn’t to market yet. The application UI was purposefully simplistic – we didn’t want to overwhelm users with techy jargon. We wanted them to be able to tap into the features easily, so they could focus on playing with their cat!
